Hi Friends🙋♂️,
My following email was supposed to arrive next week.
But I just read something so mind-blowing, so important, and so empowering, that I couldn't wait.
I'll keep this short and sweet, but please read it carefully.
A new study suggests we can influence Alzheimer's progression in just 5 months❗️
Last year, Dean Ornish, MD, one of the "fathers" of Lifestyle Medicine, published a groundbreaking randomized controlled trial. And unlike most Alzheimer's studies, which focus on drugs, this one tested something radically simple:
Can lifestyle changes alone slow or even reverse the early stages of Alzheimer's disease?
Here is what they did:
They selected 51 individuals diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early Alzheimer'sout of more than 1,500 screened (to ensure accuracy).
Participants were randomly placed into:
A control group: no lifestyle changes
A lifestyle intervention group: comprehensive Lifestyle Medicine protocol
The lifestyle group followed a structured program for 20 weeks, including:
🥗 Whole-food, plant-based diet
Rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and soy
Low in saturated fat, sweeteners, and refined carbohydrates
All meals were provided to ensure perfect adherence
🏃 Aerobic exercise
At least 30 minutes/day + light strength training
🧘 Daily stress-reduction
Meditation, yoga, breathing exercises — 1 hour/day
👥 3×/week support groups
For emotional connection and adherence
💊 Key supplements
(Including B12, omega-3, curcumin, probiotics, etc...)
What Happened After 20 Weeks?🤔
While the control group continued declining, as expected in early Alzheimer's.
The lifestyle group showed something researchers have rarely seen:
Their cognitive function didn't just stabilize; it actually improved.😱
On the primary outcomes:
Global cognitive function improved
Daily functioning improved
Clinical progression slowed or stopped across all major cognitive tests
Biological markers shifted in the right direction, including:
↑ Plasma Aβ42/40 ratio (a key Alzheimer's biomarker)
↓ LDL cholesterol
↓ Inflammatory markers (GlycA)
↑ Ketone levels (a brain fuel)
Improvements in the gut microbiome, including increases in beneficial species linked to reduced AD risk
These changes happened in just 5 months without a single drug. ❗️And without spending millions of dollars on pharmaceutical companies. (I cannot highlight this to you enough!)
Let me highlight one more mind-blowing detail:
The more closely people followed the lifestyle program, the greater the improvement in their cognition.
A clear dose-response relationship.
You could ask:
Why this truly matters to you❓
If lifestyle changes can influence something as complex and devastating as Alzheimer's disease (to which drug companies have spent billions trying to treat)
Just imagine what these same habits can do for:
Your energy⚡️
Your focus📖
Your long-term health🌱
Your mood😄
Your cardiovascular system🫀
Your microbiome🦠
Your sense of vitality and resilience💧
This study is proof that small, daily decisions shape our biology in ways we once thought impossible.
Lifestyle can literally change the trajectory of disease.🌱
Are you hesitating to take your first step?👣
Maybe you've wondered
"Does this one habit really matter?"
"Is eating healthier truly worth the effort?"
"Will walking more make a real difference?"
"Can stress reduction actually change anything?"
My answer is yes. It matters. We do not even think about how much.
What is yours?🫵
Thank you for reading!🙌
I hope you enjoyed. Don't forget to share this with one of your friends!🤗
Wish you a great weekend!
See you next week,
Cheers,
Bazil
